Pocotrader,
I don't know about the States but I haven't seen a Ma and PA gas station for a long time, maybe up north or in the boonies
Gas stations are franchises and are owned and operated independently, like McDonald's, Subway, or Chick-Fil-A.

The point is that gas stations are easy to set up. Low barriers for entry. That's why they're numerous.

EV charging centers, on the other hand, are harder to set up and require a lot more services.

Partnering up a charging center with a Starbucks, for example, seems like a natural fit, but that almost seems like a requirement.

All because charging an EV is not the same as filling up a gas tank. It's a major inconvenience, and it's quite a lot to ask of people who don't want to bother.
