Titration - add small amounts of a known strength reagent to another chemical keeping track of how much is added and make measurements until a change occurs.

For pH titrations, you're adding an acid to a base or vice versa. There are other types of titrations.

For pH, pHis measured and the pH change follows a sigmoidal function where the inflection point or change of slope is when you have neutralized one of the acid groups in the chemical.
