Robert:

I would prefer to have my fractal friend Joe answer your question. The resident TruDef connoisseur.

Joe?

Robert, based on prior information from Tom I would say that fractals were not used in Trudef. I think we need Shotgun or Tom to explain the difference between fractals and wavelets for us.

Robert(aka: Shark) Weight,
For someone very knowledgeable in TMM this should be elementary! Be nice or we will have to get our porpoise out to eliminate you.

Robert, Tom has said that Trudef is a "hybrid" compression that uses fractals and waveletts. I thought he might tell us about it since he posted after you asked the question. I suspect it uses fractals. I don't know why it is so hard to find out.

Sorry I can't help more.
