No fair giving away the secrets. The Brink-speak magic decoder ring is only earned by listening every week for several years. <g>

Much of his message, like the comments about US - Iraq or dollar cost averaging, is unmistakable. Some of the message is more veiled - to be understood by the astute listener yet not be confusing to the novice. But I don't think the phrase mapping is quite as simple as you suggest and it is intended to be utilized individually by each listener depending on their sophistication, risk tolerance, etc.

I would interpret "We had a buying opportunity on January 23rd [sic - 12th] differently. I think he was saying that the caller should have been listening to the show more carefully. Then I would look at how far he was saying we are away from his target to know whether I personally would dca or not.

Good observation Greg. I agree that there are subtleties that Bob uses when he speaks and I've learned to read them better as I listen to him more.

It's interesting that you've noticed this also.

I'm not sure that I agree with your comment about Bob hiding his meaning. It seems that his advice works well when following exactly what he says, rather than looking for hidden meanings.

Best wishes,
