Thanks for the figures, Qone0.

Now let's plug in California's prices, which is approx. $0.30/kWh for electricity and $4.50/gal for gas.

$1,408 per 14,000 miles for Tesla.

Gas at $4.50 a gallon 25MPG car $2,520 per 14,000 miles

Gas at $4.50 a gallon 50MPG car $1,260 per 14,000 miles.

The economics of driving an EV no longer look as good here in California. Drivers will still save money on fuel/energy, but it's not that much, and it's questionable whether they end up saving money overall.

Hmmm

My utility if I were to use it to charge my Model S is about $0.10 per Kwh.

So roughly 300 miles of range if totally discharged and then charged to full capacity (100 Kwh's) would cost roughly $10..

Substantially cheaper than any ICE car of equivalent size.

More than 5X cheaper!
