OT 3.2 Woes

Well, it looks like I'm stuck with OT 3.1 for a while longer. I received my OT 3.2 CD-ROM on Thursday and immediately discovered that the conversion utility to copy profiles from 3.1 to 3.2 was completely nonfunctional for me. I still have a call into Nirvana to figure out what the problem is.

I was prepared to spend several hours this weekend manually rekeying my profiles into 3.2 when I discovered a show-stopper for me. It seems that 3.2 is completely unable to read user data collected by my Omega downloader from Dial/Data (the data service I use). 3.1 works just fine with it, but 3.2 simply hangs trying to do anything with it. Still waiting for a response to this bug report I e-mailed to Nirvana this morning but for now my upgrade path is blocked.

I'd be interested in hearing other experiences with the 3.2 upgrade from other folks. I want to stress that I am very impressed with OT and have found it both useful and profitable. I find it hard to believe most folks would not find that the program more than paid for itself in the 60-day free trial period that Nirvana offers. But every program has its glitches and OT 3.2 Release 1 is no exception.

Bill:

Very nice summary of the proper use of OT. I have been using OT for 2 years now and I'm very happy with it. You will hear a lot of people tell you it is a garbage program. The main reason they say this is that they trade the signals OT gives blindly. It is not a black box, the signals are only the starting point to picking a good trade. Use OT as a filter to narrow your focus list, then examine the chart more thoroughly with MetaStock or SuperCharts and you will have a winning combination.
