Human innovations to innovate agriculture has resulted in stunted, chemically addicted crops and polluted water aquifers.
Then buy organic.

That too is part of human progress, namely our ability to grow a good portion of our food "organically."

By the way, Joachim, Sri Lanka once thought like you did, which is part of the reason why they banned chemical fertilizers. The result was an utter disaster:
