Andrew, I agree of course. But it is the answer to the question asked. That's why I made the point about setting stops. I think that the unlimited loss theory need not apply in today's market on a large number of stocks. Being short (e.g.) ACLY seems about as safe to me as being long on a $25 stock with $20/share cash - not entirely without risk, but a good bet if you are careful.
