Health Officials: Man Dies From Bubonic Plague In New Mexico
Authored by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

Officials in New Mexico confirmed that a resident died from the plague in the United States’ first fatal case in several years.

The New Mexico Department of Health, in a statement, said that a man in Lincoln County “succumbed to the plague.” The man, who was not identified, was hospitalized before his death, officials said.

They further noted that it is the first human case of plague in New Mexico since 2021 and also the first death since 2020, according to the statement. No other details were provided, including how the disease spread to the man.

The agency is now doing outreach in Lincoln County, while “an environmental assessment will also be conducted in the community to look for ongoing risk,” the statement continued.

This tragic incident serves as a clear reminder of the threat posed by this ancient disease and emphasizes the need for heightened community awareness and proactive measures to prevent its spread,” the agency said.

A bacterial disease that spreads via rodents, it is generally spread to people through the bites of infected fleas. The plague, known as the black death or the bubonic plague, can spread by contact with infected animals such as rodents, pets, or wildlife.

The New Mexico Health Department statement said that pets such as dogs and cats that roam and hunt can bring infected fleas back into homes and put residents at risk.

Officials warned people in the area to “avoid sick or dead rodents and rabbits, and their nests and burrows” and to “prevent pets from roaming and hunting.”

“Talk to your veterinarian about using an appropriate flea control product on your pets as not all products are safe for cats, dogs or your children” and “have sick pets examined promptly by a veterinarian,” it added.

“See your doctor about any unexplained illness involving a sudden and severe fever, the statement continued, adding that locals should clean areas around their home that could house rodents like wood piles, junk piles, old vehicles, and brush piles.

The plague, which is spread by the bacteria Yersinia pestis, famously caused the deaths of an estimated hundreds of millions of Europeans in the 14th and 15th centuries following the Mongol invasions. In that pandemic, the bacteria spread via fleas on black rats, which historians say was not known by the people at the time.

Other outbreaks of the plague, such as the Plague of Justinian in the 6th century, are also believed to have killed about one-fifth of the population of the Byzantine Empire, according to historical records and accounts. In 2013, researchers said the Justinian plague was also caused by the Yersinia pestis bacteria.

But in the United States, it is considered a rare disease and usually occurs only in several countries worldwide. Generally, according to the Mayo Clinic, the bacteria affects only a few people in U.S. rural areas in Western states.

Recent cases have occurred mainly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Countries with frequent plague cases include Madagascar, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Peru, the clinic says. There were multiple cases of plague reported in Inner Mongolia, China, in recent years, too.

SymptomsSymptoms of a bubonic plague infection include headache, chills, fever, and weakness. Health officials say it can usually cause a painful swelling of lymph nodes in the groin, armpit, or neck areas. The swelling usually occurs within about two to eight days.

The disease can generally be treated with antibiotics, but it is usually deadly when not treated, the Mayo Clinic website says.

“Plague is considered a potential bioweapon. The U.S. government has plans and treatments in place if the disease is used as a weapon,” the website also says.

According to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the last time that plague deaths were reported in the United States was in 2020 when two people died.

--no evidence--

have been told that the pentagon refuses to operationalize/clearly define what constitutes "evidence'.
so, they can continually state there's no evidence and since the pentagon holds authority over the
definition of 'evidence' they cannot be effectively challenged. relatedly, they can just say 'national security'
and stop whatever they want to stop. and, of course, there's the you-can't-handle-the-truth angle that
likely plays, too.

more interesting than pentagon fakenews is the decades of film by dorothy izatt. her work has not been
debunked, despite numerous government studies. here's a documentary film about her:

re <<‘No Evidence’ of Alien Technology>> ... just fresh out of the oven, nicely done, in time to end 2024 in good stance, and apparently no issues with chips :0)

Now only waiting for the near-space far-atmosphere air superiority fighter to be followed by the cislunar space domination fighter

Spotted: China's 6th Generation Fighter May Just Have Made Its Maiden Flight
Aaron SprayPublished 53 minutes ago

Videos have emerged online purportedly showing China's new sixth generation fighter jet jet flying for the first time with a fifth-generation J-20 Mighty Dragon fighter acting as a chase plane. This would make China the second or first nation in the world to fly a sixth-generation fighter jet ( Northrop Grumman claims the B-21 Raider is a sixth-generation combat aircraft even though it is a strategic bomber ). Whereas countries like the US, UK, and Russia tend to be reasonably open about their next-generation fighter jet programs, China is incredibly secretive and is often missing from much of the conversation because so little is known.

Claimed flight of China's sixth-generation fighter

In November 2024, the 6th generation stealth fighter called the AVIC Baidi Type-B (meaning White Emperor) was unveiled by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). AVIC represented the mockup at the Zhuhai airshow. It is unclear if this is the same fighter jet that has been filmed flying. There were also claims that it could operate from space, but analysts are skeptical about these claims.

If this was the first flight of China's sixth-generation fighter jet, it would be remarkable. The fifth-generation Chengdu J-20 Mighty Dragon only first flew in 2011 and came into service in 2017. It could herald another step in the new era of Great Power Competition right when the US Air Force is considering canceling its manned sixth-generation fighter jet (NGAD). This could be an example of where China is not just playing catchup but could be pulling ahead in some areas.

The fighter jet's features are in keeping with some renderings of US sixth-generation designs - a tailless design with diamond wings. The aircraft's capabilities are unknown (as are its capabilities relative to Western sixth-generation designs). It is believed China wants its sixth-gen fighter to enter service around 2035 (the same time as the British and US Navy plan their sixth-gen fighters to enter service).

China pulling ahead in sixth-generation fighter development

The development could underscore just how much China has powered past Russia in many areas while closing the technological gap with the United States . The United States became the first country to operate fifth-generation fighter jets in 2005 when the F-22 Raptor entered service. Meanwhile, Russia has struggled to field a fifth-generation fighter. Russia's Su-57 Felon has been described as "low-observable" but not "very low-observable" and Russia is struggling to build them (fewer than 20 serial-production Su-57s are thought to exist) .

Perhaps the three most significant non-Chinese sixth-generation fighter jet programs are the United States Air Force NGAD program (which includes the development of a sixth-generation fighter and Collaborative Combat Aircraft - aka loyal wingman drones), the US Navy's F/A-XX program, and the Anglo-Japanese-Italian Tempest/GCAP program. The Franco-German FACS fighter is considered less advanced in its development cycle.

None of these fighter jets are known to have flown (a Tempest/GCAP demonstrator is expected to fly in 2027). Both Tempest and the F/A-XX are expected to enter service around 2035. The Air Force's NGAD was considered the most advanced in its development cycle, but its future now hangs in the balance pending what the incoming Trump Administration thinks of it .

China rapidly building a formidable carrier fleet

China is making rapid progress in many other military sectors. Another high-profile example is the development of aircraft carriers. In just a few years, China completed the construction of an old Soviet Kuznetsov-class aircraft carrier (now the Type 001 Liaoning), then it replicated and modernized the design with the Type 002 Shandong. Now it has the indigenously designed conventionally-powered Type 003 Fujian supercarrier in seatrails (with electromagnetic catapults). Finally, China has been observed building a naval nuclear reactor believed to be for its next aircraft carrier .

Concurrently, China has unveiled its fifth-generation J-35 (a variant of the FC-31) believed to be intended for its new fleet of aircraft carriers. It is unclear when the new fighter jet will enter service.

Re <<Technology>> … internetariates were confused over the past 24-36 hours because apparently NOT ONE BUT TWO 6th Gen combat craft were shown on the same day, one each from Shenyang and Xian works. Team China has a sense of humor and is deliberate, and must admit very funny … let’s follow the situation for more reveals

Better revealing as then Team has done than putting the crafts under tarp and do backlighting light show whilst writing up a big ticket invoice to the tax payers

So far one plane might sport three engines, one for near-space orbital operation such as anti-ICBM and anti-everything else, and two engines for atmospheric flights.

Another plane might feature tandem / side-by-side seating so one pilot can do non-piloting stuff.

Both seem larger than their respective and different chase planes, but neither so large to be categorized as anything larger than fighter or at most fighter-bomber, and both looking can pack enough beyond-visual-range packages to keep peace in good order, and one might go orbital before breakfast and be back at home base for lunch and nap

The gap is widening, and fast … best to prepare for enhanced inflation.

At the same time academic commentariat argue that Team China must help Team USA because Team China is not yet ready to keep peace alone, for the same logic that Team Russia should be kept going … echoing my observation that Romance of Three Kingdoms is one way going forward that is safer for all involved

Perhaps Team Trump realizes that, I repeat, that Team China is the largest backer of the continuity of the USD system by keep selling stuff for USDs.

9D chess.

re <<U.S. Has ‘No Evidence’ of Alien Technology, New Pentagon Report Finds>>

the path to Nixon-ing is soooooo obvious but will Team Trump 2.0 take the lonely but right way?

Hilarious, a word we best get more used to, we read military-porn copium's 'is it a bird, a plane, a spacecraft, piloted, pilotless, fighter, bomber, fighter bomber, destined one of one, or intended one of two'

Find them anti-Raimondo fool's-errand chips perhaps connected into Huawei's axis of evil 6G quantum satellite communication network by military-civilian fusion tri-fold handsets featuring Harmony OS enabling AI IoT 360-degrees all-around situation-aware informatics better for endless 5% macro growth rate minus the pointless services GDP

One thing good, for less need to watch & brief on merits of USA F35 vs PRC J20s starting 1st January of new year, and can conclude that the market for F35s drying up faster, without NGAD (next generation advanced fighter) followup even as PRC J35 are now exportable just as BYD everything and Xiaomi everything else

Perhaps best that Boeing get into cellular handset assembly and Lockeed dabble at making t-shirts, starting with the basics, importing knockdown kits and sourcing buttons :0)

There is always the suspicion that Team China travelled into the future by Time Machine and stole Team USA designs

I know I know, perhaps bit too cheek-tongue schadenfreude but we are in merry holiday mode still :0)

Puts the 2021 Alaska meeting in better light
