Oh, right Reggie. The market has spoken! That's why the original retail Win95 release is the best seller! It's what the customers want! Those foolish OEMs, what's with them and their whining. Old Joachim is giving them what they deserve when he treats them like dirt.

Cheers, Dan.

Reg -

Alan is approaching the argument from the much more realistic market driven perspective, while you are approaching it form the techie standards based perpsective.

How do you know this is what Alan is thinking? You're implying that my perspective is unrealistic, btw, and while that might be your opinion, it's far from fact.

Do you remember my warning about what would happen if the standards diverged from the demands of the market?

Yes, all-powerful future seer. Do you remember mine about what happens when the market diverges too far from the standards? Do you like your phone? Your computer? Your car? Your TV? All made possible by standards, Reg, and the people you so disparagingly refer to as techies.
