Suharto's day will not come from IMF or US or any other external forces. It will come when the populace decides enough is enough.
Guys like Suharto (and family) are so blinded by their own greed and self importance, that they fail to see the basic needs of the people they are to serve, and only serve themselves to excess. I would be very surprised if Suharto is still in power by the end of the year.

Dppl, Shankar,

This one reminds me a bit of Philippine Long Distance in the waning days of the Marcos administration. Those who bought at that time were handsomely rewarded once the political situation stabilized. I've tramped around on Java and Bali years ago and was very impressed by the people and resources of this magnificent country. I also believe that even in these days of telecom competition, a basic national telecom monopoly, which I presume TLK is, is still worth something. I haven't yet started to research this company in a serious way, but am starting to get interested. Do you folks think this one may be worth a nibble or two for a patient long-term investor?
