"I'm trying to find that article that you posted a while back which talked about Brandon trying to create a "green" economy. "

Is he normalizing the idea that we'll have a green economy this century? Yeah. When we get there, it will be the new normal.

Extreme Temperature Diary- Thursday March 21st, 2024/Main Topic: Biden’s New Historic Car Emissions Rules – Guy On Climate

Dear Diary. News broke yesterday that the Biden Administration would be rolling out historic car emission rules for domestic automobile manufacturers. These are designed to hasten our transition to electric vehicles and lower carbon emissions. Already these new rules are causing quite the political controversy. Right wing conservatives are calling foul, accusing Biden of outlawing fossil fuel engines. Although I wish that was so, I realize that in order not to hurt middle-class people we need a transition. It must be quick to avoid more harm to our climate, though. Since I’m left on the issue of emission mandates, thinking that sacrifices by all need to be made to stymie carbon pollution, here is a new article from the Conversation on these new rules:

Dynamism is a capitalist necessity, needless to point out, to stay competitive.

In the case of a greener economy, dynamism produces maximum utility AND opportunity.

Conservatives today oppose this tech evolution because Democrats are for it. Democrats and ex-centrist Republicans want to keep America competitive reducing colossal externalized costs (like global warming) that will be paid by taxpayers and sick folks, not by competing cost-causing profiteers.

It seems the Trump Republican's love Authoritarian government and a less competitive country when it comes to industries. Supply-side economics to the extremes, driven by powerful oligopolies that ignore expensive consequences because they don't have to pay for them. Coupled with lowering taxes to the richest and cost-causing corporations so the middle class and working poor pay, often with never-ending debt to the credit fat cats. The perfect short-term profit model, and an end-state for the dream creation of wealth, happiness and health for the more of the masses.
