ACSES: Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and 23 further web bookstores at your
fingertip

FEB 18, 1998, M2 Communications - Acses, the price comparison service
for Internet bookshops, today announced the inclusion of the 25th
bookstore in its book price search engine. Two of them are Amazon.com
and Barnes & Noble, the two world's largest bookstores. With additional
shops Acses has now further extended its leading position as the online
book shopping service which compares offers from more shops than any
other service available on the Internet.

Visitors using Acses simply select a book and the Internet software
robot then automatically visits all 25 online bookshops simultaneously
to retrieve the current prices for this book from each store.

Availability, shipping costs and shipping times are taken into account
as well. After a few seconds, Acses presents a table of all offers,
sorted by prices. Using advanced search capabilities, Acses even finds
the merchant with the best total price for a stack of up to ten books.

According to Yahoo! Internet Life, "Bargain hunting for books online
has never been easier than this".

Although most online bookstores offer deeper prices than classic
bookshops, discounts vary greatly from book to book and from store to
store. With a few mouse clicks, the bookshopper now gets a complete
overview of the online book market. "No one wants to pay more than the
best available price for a standardized item as a book is", Christoph
Janz, Managing Director of Muenchhoff & Janz GmbH states, "but it
requires too much time to check out the prices of one or even several
books at a wealth of stores manually. Acses performs this job
automatically and brings a market transparency to the online book
market which has until now been reserved to stock markets. We expect
that comparison shopping systems will boost the progress of electronic
commerce because they offer a significant advantage over classic retail
channels."

Acses is a service of Muenchhoff & Janz GmbH, a German based software
company with a main focus on Internet software robots and comparison
shopping systems.
