When people lived in clans altruist's saved their saved their own clan's gene pool which including their own genetics. Same as a parent or uncle sacrificing themself to save a child. Duh! Converting to LIBERtarianism in the 70s I heard about Rand right away. It did not take me long to consider her a selfish elitist idiot. In fact it was almost instantaneous. She was best friends with Edward Bernays the father of scientific propaganda and Alan Greenspan... a loathsome trio of people who never contributed anything of use to anyone except propagandists.
