Hi E_K_S,

Totally agree.

At 71, I'm beginning to realize my physical limitations are beginning to compound and are noticeable.

That being said I'm very lucky to be doing what I do.

I ran marathons for decades and it helped me stay lean.

I no longer run, but stay very active on my 40 acres. Gardening and tree removal. I'm buying a track steer next month and that will take the heavy lifting out of the equation.

Structural work is very challenging and I've done a minor amount.

This project is a huge step up in that the steel beams are 3000 pounds.

I've studied the process and it require a steel company and some roust a bout lifts (rental) and some heavy shoring lifts (that i'll buy). Also some very strong foundtional upgrades and outside house sheathing. That I have experience in along with ourside insulation and cement board siding. I have the scaffolding from past jobs and must be very careful on not falling.

Roofing I'll contract out.

I have a close friend in the concrete business and he had other contractor friends I'll hire.

Very challenging!

I like that type of thing - working with my hands.

I finished up replacing all the chrome on my 57 Corvette yesterday. Sat and laid on concrete for 8 hours. My butt is complaining today.

It's been a winter task and it looks so good. I can't wait to drive in the summer weather - still 45 days out at least.

This will be my last remodel project.

All new construction and done on a bid basis for here on out.

Bob
