As long as there are economical supplies of coal, and they can be anywhere in the world, China will be burning coal till it's all gone. Unless things change. Here is a nice "worldometer" on coals reserves and consumption. About 133 years left before China turns off the Coal Power Stations. World Coal Statistics - Worldometer (worldometers.info) I wonder how many metric tonnes of mercury that represents being chucked into the air and returning to the seas?
