Today's split superstar is Northern States Financial (NSFC 179 1/2 +50 1/2). Today the stock is trading 39% higher after company announced a 5-for-1 stock split. But before you go piling on, be aware that the bid/ask spread on NSFC is $32. That's right, 32 bucks. Do you think that could be one of the reasons the stock has traded less than 3000 shares today?
