I said "something like" because I was going from memory. I made it clear it wasn't a direct quote. I don't think the difference is big at all. The point is they are giving no guidance whatsoever. We're talking about 1999. The Y2K window of opportunity will be closing by then! Management is unwilling to even vaguely quantify the value of that opportunity. Name one other company that doesn't give any earnings guidance. You think its simply being responsible, I think its because they know expectations are way too high. Next time I'll quote exactly so that the substance of my posts can't be obscured by directing attention to any discrepancies.
