Mike, Thanks for the interesting article on Boeing's flywheel ambitions. You may also be interested to check out SatCon Technology (SATC) which is a small R&D oriented company, ala the Thermoelectron. They have already developed flywheel technology for energy storage applications for the U.S. Navy and with applications onboard satellites as well. I believe that they too, have secured some patents and have a functional prototype. It is an interesting technology, and the company does not have much of a following since it is so small and has so many R&D projects (can you see the fit between flywheel energy storage and ecoli detection in meats??). Perhaps more of a pure play than BA. I'd be interested to hear more on this topic, albeit decidedly off-topic. Thanks. Cheers, Thomas
