1. A clear plan of action for the future

I heard concentration on the bingo business, with a wait and see attitude on the VGMs. I heard a re-focus to the business plan of three years ago. Seemed clear to me.

2. Reiteration of solid earnings growth

I heard a doubling of corporate profits in 1998 and flat earnings. Quite a feat after doubling the shares outstanding and suffering a 35% tax hit. I think this bodes extremely well for 1999. I heard soft projections based on current operational status. I believe acquistions will be more agressively persued than indicated at first blush. That makes sense...low ball so that you are not blindsided by something unusual. I heard excellent financial condition with a current ratio and cash balances that are outstanding.

3. Evidence that the current expansion is working

The current expansion is working. They are making more money with 14 halls than with 20. That is good business decision making. They have more VGMs than they ever projected. They have less bingo halls. This is in part why I think they are toning down their projections. They missed so badly in the past due to outside factors that were not anticipated.

Long term I am pumped. Did we listen to the same conference call????
