The right time to buy is when everyone else is walking away. I'd consider at least waiting for the Vantive analyst meeting on March 10th. Keep in mind the stock is a miserable piece of junk, but that doesn't mean the company is. Eventually the stock price will reconcile with the quality of the company and its earnings prospects.

Vantive stock was WAY WAY WAY ahead of itself over the last few years. unfortunately, that often means it will take some time trading below its true value before it recovers.

SONAR, I agree with your sentiments, but I also think the stagnant stock price has led to an attractive valuation for VNTV. I don't think VNTV needs much of a catalyst other than continuing quarterly performance.

Melissa-- regarding people-- SEBL's got some very good people, but so does VNTV. It doesn't surprise me that VNTV can't hire SEBL reps at the moment, I'm sure nobody can hire the good ones right now.

I agree about the need to avoid another Scopus-type of situation. Fortunately, VNTV management is solid. The only question mark is how well VNTV is positioned in the CIS space; SEBL is clearly at the sweet spot for now.
