William -

Thanks for the link to the PMA report.

One thing I noticed that was very interesting:

"Sandisk unveiled its sleek new external CompactFlashT drive. With an expected street price of around $200, the drive is cheaper than many of the disks."

I think that answers the argument that Clik!'s initial cost is too high.

Also, there's a picture of a Clik! drive sitting in a neat little PalmPilot type holster, hooked up to a PC through a PC card reader.

Clik! is beginning to look less vaporous.

PMA Convention...

Bill...

Thanks for the great link. I was very impressed with IOMEGA's effort. It seems to me that CLIK! is gaining momentum. I'll go out on a limb and predict that CLIK! will be the one product that IOMEGA delivers on time.

I must admit that looking at all of the other interesting products being displayed at the convention was a little scary... CLIK! competition-wise that is... None of them are what I would call CLIK! killers (am I the first to use that term? I think we'll be hearing it more often once the product hits the market and Rockhead has to change his vapor "strategy" to a CLIK! killer strategy)... but all of the new products does point to the fact that this is looking like an area of technology (digital photography) that is about to explode with new technologies, new products and a huge opportunity for the company with the right products, at the right time, at the right price. Until something changes to convince me otherwise I believe that IOMEGA is that company...

William, You post today re: PMA convention is the best post
in a long time. Everyone should follow the link shown:

<<Report from New Orleans PMA convention by HeyKerry of the AOL Fool board:
look.net
>>

We saw a picture of Clik drive posted a few days ago, but it could
have been a CAD drawing. The PMA photos show there is a real
Clik product about to be launched and we are witnessing the birth
of that product right now. In the pictures on the right about
the 5th picture down is the same little blue-gray hand held device
in some adapter caddy and cabled to a port in the front of a PC.
I assume this was a working model/prototype being demoed. I would
hope someone can get a response confirming that is a fact. Was
the photographer snapping pictures of people coming into IOM's
booth with a digital camera connected to a Clik and was he then
showing those pictures loaded into the PC on the table and displayed
on the PC's monitor? The guy giving the report was being too cute
with his sleuthing discussions with other vendors and didn't give
us this basic fact. Maybe he just assumed it was obvious.

So anyone, let's get it straight, there are Clik working models
that were shown or all this was hype of vaporware? We need the
facts even if they were implied in the report.

I for one was quite impressed with this shirtpocket product and wish
they had showed photos of the Clik disks as well. However, my
guess we will be seeing the real thing very soon now.
