Just wait until we get more bandwith and banner ads have animation and music and speech.

All the more reason to block them.

If you have a hot product and you want to reach hundreds of millions of potential customers where are you going to place your advertisement? Places like Yahoo that have heavy traffic.

So, you do care about advertising? If not banner ads, what? Pop-up ad windows like on Peter F's GeoCities Web page? Much more annoying. Block 'em. Full Web page ads that you must go through to get the page you want sort of like the commercials between the teaser and the full story on TV news? Well, that'd sure kill the experience, wouldn't it?

Come on Craig, banner ads are the life blood of Yahoo and between deep pocket potential/existing competition, smaller search/info sites, probable decline in CPMs, and hackers turned entrepreneur selling software to block ads, that blood pressure is looking weak.

Get a clue. You'd never hear a real long saying "who cares about banner ads". But I guess the entertainment value might be positively related to the ridiculousness of the argument. To a point.
