vinwood, re:astute businessman

You make me laugh. Sanders is nothing but a 2-bit saleman. He should take a Strategy 101 class, because he knows nothing about it. Going up directly against Intel is no way to make money. As for being an astute salesman, yup, his record speaks for itslef. When's the last time AMD made any money??

You're right, they are basic questions, but I want to make sure there are no idiosyncrasies with warrants/new tax changes I don't know about. I don't like to rely 100% on my broker when hundreds of thousands of dollars of profit are involved... :-)

VinWood,

<an astute businessman like Jerry Sanders>

This has got to be one of the funniest lines ever on this thread. Jerry Sanders "astute".....ROFLMAO!!! Jerry Sanders is nothing more than a used car salesman who is selling AMD shares to suckers willing to by his lines. He has turned losing money into an art form. Quarter after quarter AMD is losing money yet he can sucker investors into believing that greener pastures are right around the corner. Jerry Sanders and his lack of vision and strategy are AMD's single biggest problem.....it's not yields, it not lack of competitive products, it's Jerry and his misguided ego. Jerry's just a frustrated Andy Grove wannabe who has milked investors at every turn while making sure to take care of himself. Jerry has produced negative earnings for 5 of the last 7 quarters during a time in which AMD was supposedly better positioned to compete with Intel than ever. Astute, hardly....a loser, most definitely.
