Thinking about what you wrote.." Instead people opt for cars twice the size". Americans become 'porkers'. They cannot fit comfortably into 'normal' sized clothing, cars, whatever. I was reading the avg weight for today's 20yr male is 195lb or so.. most cannot physically qualify for the military at that weight. & these guys are only 20yrs old! I was drafted in the mid- 60's at 140- 141lb or so. Lean was typical back then.. obesity a rarity. This is not an extreme example of that period back then (today's women would think the girls back then were starving. LOL!
