It's really not hard at all. Every time something jumps (up or down) out of the gate that I think I want, I put in a GTC buy for it at the price that I want it. More often than not I get a fill. Sometime within a few days, other times within a few months. If the trade gets away, I reassess it once a week or once a month and adjust my price accordingly. When it gets filled, I have another look to see what's been happening with the company and where my stoploss should be and where my reentry should be.

It's pretty mechanical in nature. Not much brain work.
