I don't need to explain the op-ed; it is a term, but even NYT, several years ago, said we're not going to call it that anymore. It will be "guest essays" -- where even the name doesn't reflect opposition. Which strongly suggests that the purpose is to reduce the opposition aspect.

And that's fine. It is their space. But let's not start suggesting newspapers are anything but leftist, and particularly the NYT and WaPo. And it is why I gave up reading anything in the Times or WaPo years ago. I'd rather be uninformed than misinformed. And there are far better sources of news today that give me what I need and have time for.

Arguably, the best, most honest news organization in the business. Very much topical, but 100% factual. A true liberal in the sense of the great Christopher Hitchens, well informed and brutally honest. He has put together an excellent organization.
