why would you think unfi shares are crazy cheap? Last couple of years management has looked inept and its short lived success could well have been covid related. Buffett made some comment about rather having good management in an excellent business than great management in a mediocre business. so far UNFI looks like a case of poor management in a tough business. I think its tough for supermarkets and smaller grocers to compete with costco walmart , target, whole foods, trader joes, aldis. The most successful supermarket chain in my area has above average take out food as well as decent dining in area. they are 35%-45% cheaper than restaurant food as no tipping is involved.
