You realize, it is in Ukraine not Russia. If Zelensky tried to outlaw speaking Russia in Russia it would be weird, but he has an understandable concern for speaking the invader's language in the land that was attacked. The Ukrainians have an interest in finding spies and 5th columnists.

The "outlawing" of the Russian language and culture actually began in 2014-15 after the ILLEGAL COUP that overthrew the Legitimate President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, who was prepared to have a sensible, neutral relationship with Russia. The PRIME Movers behind this "outlawing" was the Bandera-following NEO-NAZI AZOV elements who were VIRULENTLY ANTI-RUSSIA, because they were PROPONENTS of Bandera's past NAZI Affiliations !!!
