I wonder if part of Blue’s thinking was that the site provided a lot of people a valuable place (investing, political discussion, etc.) and many of those who had not contributed before are kind of tied in and will pay to continue. Kind of like people who spent time on Facebook, twitter, etc when there were no ads and now put up with ads which would have driven them off when they first joined. Having run a software company for decades, I haven’t been impressed with Blue’s management decisions, but hope he pulls it out of the fire.
