To All: Since no one's bothered to post todays news, here it is!!:

HENDERSON, Nev. - Valence Technology Inc. announced Wednesday it expects to begin production of its rechargeable lithium polymer batteries by June 30. The batteries will be produced at its Henderson, Nev., plant, and Valence (VLNC) will provide samples to customers for testing. After testing, battery production will move to its Northern Ireland plant, possibly as early as July or August.

Valence Technology researches and develops produce advanced rechargeable batteries based on lithium and polymer technologies.

3:47 PM posting.

Based on the above, it looks like 1st qtr is DEFINITELY shot. Indeed, it looks like most of 2nd qtr will also be consumed before these batteries MIGHT become available for testing. Bottom line--we're talking end of SUMMER before there's any COMMERCIAL production of note. From a revenue generation standpoint this also means it's likely to be 1999 before they see any dollars flowing to their bottom line. This definitely means some sort of financing arrangement is gonna have to be forthcoming, if it isn't already being negotiated behind closed doors. Ah, well, let's hope they keep the PR machine alive and cranking as entertainment, if nothing else. Anyone want to take a guess as to the trading range VLNC will find itself stuck in until such time as more positive news arrives?

John~
