So, after re-reading the Comsat press release in Clintonian terms ("I never had sexual relations with that woman" because oral sex is not sexual relations or he regarded her as a girl rather than a woman), one could conclude that the companies are not in discussions because:
1) only a confidentiality agreement has been signed and the Comsat board must approve any "discussions" before they can rise to the dignity of "discussions"; or 2) this whole thing is a figment of someone's imagination.

In any event, I don't care. I am happy with my investment with or without Comsat.

I am resending a message that didn't seem to go out. This is the latest off the wire. Who knows what's happening. I thought I sent this before my last one which led to my Clintonian musing attempting to rationalize the press release with the Dow Jones report:

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--COMSAT Corp. (CQ) said it is not in discussions to sell
all or part of the company to _Loral Space & Communications_ Ltd. (LOR).
The company issued a one-paragraph press release a short while ago that simply
stated it is not in talks with Loral.
However, a person familiar with the situation has told Dow Jones that the two
companies have signed a confidentiality agreement and that preliminary
discussions have occurred.
A COMSAT spokeswoman would neither confirm nor deny whether a confidentialty
agreement had been signed. A Loral spokesman also wouldn't confirm or deny the
existence of a confidentiality agreement.
COMSAT's board has discussed the situation and is expected to address it again
at a board meeting later this week, the person familiar with the situation said
earlier.
