Whatever the pattern is, I think we've seen it before. It's a condensed version of the pattern from mid-July to early October. Let's call it the "head-and-shoulders-triple-top-ascending-fractal".

Todd,

I too was looking at the chart and I also reviewed the 'analysis' on VectorVest. Here's what they have to say.

Note: I've only selected a small portion of the report for brevity and it is only the positive material.

==========
Stock Analysis of T H Q Inc.

THQI is traded on the NASDAQ.

PRICE: THQI closed on 18-Feb-1998 at $23.50 per share.

VALUE: THQI has a Value of $29.30 per share. Value is the foundation of the VectorVest system. It is a measure of what a stock is currently worth. Value is based upon earnings, earnings growth rate, dividend payments, dividend growth rate, and financial performance. Current interest and inflation rates also play an important role in the computation of Value. When interest and/or inflation rates decrease, Value goes up. When interest rates and inflation increase, Value goes down. Sooner or later a stock's Price and Value always converge.
=======

I'm not saying that this is infallible but time and again the stock has risen to match an earlier value quoted by ValueVest analysis.

Brian

P.S. It's still rated a 'BUY'. One can see the rest of the 'analysis' at the following URL: vectorvest.com

Todd, interesting analysis of the THQI chart but I think that we also need to keep in mind what the sector and overall market is doing. Today essentially all the stocks in the sector were up. The overall market has also been strong. Will the sector be strong again today? If yes or no how will this impact THQI?

The reason I bring this up is that it wouldn't take much to change the look of this pattern. It is interesting that we were talking about H&S a month ago, then is was cup and handle and now some are questioning a triple top. A small move up would end the candidacy of the triple top scenario. A small move down would give it new life and perhaps later spawn the quadruple top scenario.

It is clear that it doesn't take too much to really change from being a weak TA position to being very very strong. As you point out, the lows are increasing and that suggests to me that it is better to be long than short right now.
