If you compare Trump and Putin, and actually most of the dictators in the ME, you will find a similar base of supporters and basic ideology. That is, they are old, and religious. In Iran the kids don't talk to their parents, who support the Mullah's, and in Russia and the US Putin's bases are the same, old religious people. The kids don't like Trump or Putin. Old folks love them. And we have guys like Tucker Carlson, MTG, Trump and much of MAGA supporting Putin, and Russian propagandists supporting Trump and MTG and Carlson. It all makes perfect sense. So do we want to live in the 50's with racism, sexism and homophobia, or today with progressive civil rights, and a vibrant democracy?.
