So it appears the locals prefer not to have foreigners buy land and it looks like the IMF is helping out on the necessary funding, wonder what strings are attached there. Perhaps a better deal is to have US & Russia work together to help the locals finance & build out their Ag infrastructure.

Buy US & Russian farm machinery, seeds & other Ag technology, help build/support local Ag Coops and find local buyers for the crops. Problem Solved.

As of July 1, Ukrainians -- not foreigners -- can buy and sell up to 100 hectares. Starting in 2024, Ukrainian legal entities will qualify for transactions involving up to 10,000 hectares.

Whether foreigners should be allowed to buy land is one of the bones of contention surrounding the reform. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has said he plans to put the question to the people in a nationwide referendum, but the outcome of such a vote seems all but certain: More than 80 percent of Ukrainians oppose it, according to an opinion survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology in June.

This could be something easily negotiated by Trump as a start to make Peace in the region. Putin could step up as well identifying land/boundaries w/o any NATO or UN oversight. Let the locals determine that.

Just seems like a better way to move forward than focusing on better strategic ways to kill and create conflict.

But can Zelenskiy be trusted?
