Way over his skis. Wild speculation isn't a problem, but at some point you have to get it to fit in reality. Or it isn't very convincing. Something that Noodles has never learned.

I am perfectly willing to believe it was a typo since there is a formula that gets in the ballpark. However, when I started looking over his books with a somewhat older eye, I saw a lot of things where he really was reaching. Like the model of a "jet" from Egypt. The caption for that picture noted that some archeologists think it is a bird. The thing is, it looked a lot more like a bird than a jet. A rather obese bird with short wings, but how many jets have a beak?
