Some interesting observations there koan. The growth of the USA debt turned exponential (in 2023 inflation adjusted dollars) in 1981 as I see it. Volker did a great job controlling inflation in 1980, but the breathing space provided was not used prudently.

It wasn't just "tax cuts for the rich" the only problem though. It was the increase in the nature of spending, Basically each subsequent USA president was part of the doubling time apart from Clinton who oversaw a reduction in growth.
