If the powers that be can convince the public that there's a "climate crisis" and humans are the cause and to blame, that gives them carte blanche to mandate, regulate and control the economy and our life styles to any extent that they can get away with.

CO2 as "pollution" is the emperor's new clothes. Until enough people become aware that there is nothing there and that the climate is what it is, then our overlords will continue to rule our lives as they see fit. EV mandates are just a part of it..

You are failing to take into account that the second largest economy in the world is subsidizing strategic technology.

The free market is all well & good as long as competition is fair. We sort of had it coming. Amazon pushed many competitors out of business selling stuff for a loss.

Tesla'd be out of business tomorrow without tariffs.
