Re. I handled difficult people by two methods, challenge them in production and kick their butt production wise or fire them. Easy peasy ... ha!

Well, I'm trying to be more compassionate and understanding of other people's feelings these days. I was trained to be otherwise. It seems to be quite a different world nowadays, in terms of how one can treat people when it comes to firing and hiring. At Intel, I was trained to focus on one thing and just one thing, and it was top-notch execution at any cost. That was Andy Grove's culture back then, either perform or be thrown out. Things have changed considerably since then, and it shows in company's recent inability to execute. Grove was considered one of the best in management, he also wrote management books "Only the Paranoid Survives" and "High Output Management" medium.com@iantien/top-takeaways-from-andy-grove-s-high-output-management-2e0ecfb1ea63.
