The primary thing that seems to separate liberals and conservatives is "knowledge".

Liberals respect it, and conservatives, not so much.

In the Republican party few will admit to A global warming or evolution---both settled science.

I remember in the 2016 presidential election all the Republican nominees were standing on the debate stage and the moderator asked the people who believed in either A global warming, or evolution to raise their hand..

The only one who raised his hand was Jon Huntsman, easily the best candidate on the stage, and he was polling at 1%.

That is the Republican party and MAGA.

They force the best and brightest out of the party and end up with a bunch of Trumps and Tommy Tuberville's.
