Th Democratic party follows the science, and reason, the Republican party not so much. Most of the social improvements like social security and Medicare, and unemployment benefits and unions and work place safety regulations were mostly alll done by the Democratic party with the Republican party fighting them all the way. The Republicans tried something like 100 times to get rid of Obamacare, and nothing to replace it with. Three good examples of settled science of import embraced by Democrats, but not Republicans are global warming, evolution and the benefit of vaccines. Civilization is a manifestation of science. As science evolved so did humanitarian civilization! Look around the world and you will see the happiest and healthiest countries are the one's that follow science and reason, that leads to democracy and a sophisticated society that cares for its people, with humanity, not primitive and punitive myths, norms and mores.
