ChatGPT & DALL-E generated anoramic image Well, it's an AI generated image. The author of the story was being sarcastic with the AI image. If you had ever done work on a diesel engine (I've rebuilt many over the decades) you would have to conclude the "smoke set point" on the fuel injection pump was set wrong. Or the intjectors were dribbling really badly. (very bad spray pattern, or not turning off with each cycle) Not enough air, bad timing, low compression, lots of possibilities. Shall we say way, way too rich! Way too many un-oxidized hydrocarbon molecules!
