the problem is there are (very) few people here who seem to possess a crystal ball and like to insist on the correctness of their readings. Not to mention the range of comments starting with abundant ad hominen, red herrings, and what have you, to silly exaggerated claims.

Hey, I'm here only to make money too. I own SUNW shares because I believe in the company, long term, excuse the noise of negativity and FUD that you come across here.
As I said before, I basically loathe speculation and future tarot, palm-reading. When a person starts getting personal with his/her annoying ad hominens etc, they've lost my respect indefinitely

Frank,

This thread isn't that bad *IF* you could filter out everything
from or to twister. He likes to be just intelligent enough to
engage people in discussion then drags them down to mud slinging.
Unfortunately there are too many who let him do that :-<

<<The message I have for many of you is very, very simple: grow up!>>
Frank, please don't judge us all by the actions of a few. Actually, I think we ought to hear from people like Twister to give us the other viewpoint, so that we can make our investing decisions based on as much input as possible. I have no idea who is going to win the SUN/JAVA vs WINTEL battle. Maybe, there is room in the world for both camps to prosper.
I am fairly familiar with Sun products, having been a Sun system administrator since 1990. I've also done work on IBM and HP Unix workstations. Sun produce good products, but one thing they are missing from a sys admin point of view is a good GUI interface like HP and IBM have for sys admin tasks. IBM has SMIT and HP has SAM. Sun has their Admintool, but it's pretty basic compared to the other two I mentioned. However, Suns will boot up in a fraction of the time it takes HP's and IBM's.
BTW, I'm neither long or short on Sun right now, but I should be relatively cash rich after tomorrow's options expire. A lot of my stocks will be getting called away from me. That means I'm making profits :-). I kind of expect Sun to go close to 40 again, and then I'll be buying for sure. However, I might buy at any price below 45 and sell some 45 or 50 covered calls.
Good luck with your investing.
