*** OFF TOPIC First of all, my appologies to everyone for this lengthy off-topic post. >>TRMB and LEIX are in completely different GPS market segments, both >>with their individual strengths. In fact, TRMB doesn't even have a >>"handheld" unit. While TRMB does indeed have a handheld unit, I will grant you that it doesn't hold up well to the competition. It's expensive, slower to acquire satellites, and well, not TRMB's best foot forward. I personally think that they haven't devoted much to this effort because of the low margins, but that's only my personal theory. It's the only area that I'm aware of where TRMB isn't really competitive (that they've decided to enter, at least). I like TRMB because of their efforts in some of the markets that could really explode - like in-car navigation, cell phone (important for things like 911), and the fact that they're a very strong player in surveying, military and avaition. Their new 4500 line is supposed to be hot stuff, although I haven't seen it. Other than that, I will have to investigate LEIX more. When/if you start a new discussion group for it, let me know and I'll pick up the conversation there. >>But right now, I favor LEIX as a value and takeover play. >>Currently I have 10% of my trading account in LEIX. We are in violent agreement here, considering my comments about consolidation in the GPS market. FWIW, I've got about 20% of mine in TRMB, and I'm about to dump NSCP and move it to TRMB. TRMB has appreciated ~65% since this time last year. I'll take a good look at LEIX some before I make my decision. Sincerely, Hans Hohenner ps... I've got a luser question for those out there... how do you make things itialics in your messages?
