Harold and Kent, A great idea for a thread. The future of communications will revolve around large bandwidth technology. One aspect that I am trying to find more information/opinions is how the usage of satellites will impact the future. I started a web site dedicated to Internet Telephony, but if you go to the research page there are links for the Telecom industry in general. Here are two of the links that I found for this sector.

Another company that is starting to get attention (IPO later this year) is Netspeed (Austin Texas). They evidently are a choice(so far announced) hardware company in some kind of partnership with US West. As you may know, US West intends to rollout DSL lite in June98 in (14) western states.
