one of my friends rn a fund that will dump 8 million shares by the end of the month starting Feb 19th, sell this thing and buy something that goes up.....

rbarsom,

If you are talking about ASND, there is no fund (other than Capital Group Companies, and it only recently purchased its stake of 12.8MM shares)) that owns 8 million shares.

The next largest holder after CGC is Oak Associates, which owns 6 million shares (as of 9/30). Their fund manager recently was quoted as saying that he expected to be able to break even on ASND when it got to the mid 40s. He also was positive on the company's prospects vis-a-vis ATM.

Common sense tells me that a fund that had accumulated 8 million shares (only 1 exists) would not, now that things finally have turned around and just before the predicted double-digit revenue growth in 2H98, just dump all 8 million by the end of February.

your friend waited all the way until asnd finally moves, up over 20% in 3 weeks (40% for the year), strengthening fundamentals, other funds purchasing, and contract announcements, he will purchase another stock and dump asnd. please inform us of what stock he purchases, i want to unload this dog also for a rising star.

If what you are saying is true, which I personally doubt, (nothing personal) it is proof that fund managers are human. Count on it.

sell this thing and buy something that goes up.....

Wait a minute, lets see where else we could have put our money in the last 40 trading days for a 40% gain ; take a look at some of the most beloved stocks:

techstocks.com

it would appear your friend should have sold the last time asnd was trading in the mid 30's last Oct., as I should have also, but during the last 2 months asnd has given nothing less than a stellar performance the likes of non other than DELL. Unless you shorted at $79 and change you should think of covering it to preserve some of the profit while you still can.

Hi!

Are you earnestly trying to help or are you trying to scare some into selling? I am asking seriously, 'cause I have been thinking to lighten up a bit for quite sometime now. This is a good company fundamentally with excellent products, but it gets no respect. I suggest they hire the entire IR Dept. from AOL.

what a coincidence!, sort of overheard that, this guy friend's friend's uncle runs a couple of funds that will start seriously accumulating 10M shares starting today at 12:00 noon and will defintely end a week from now.
