Dell, among other name brands configure their computers so that it is difficult to mechanically upgrade them at a future time. They would rather have you buy another computer...called job security.

The Dream Machine, rather is an "open architecture" system allowing
for future upgrades.

I have Dell and Gateway and have had access to Compaq and MUCH prefer DELL.
