Are Renewables Actually the Cheaper Option?
Not from my viewpoint.

Electricity is more expensive than ever before here in Northern California, even though we continue moving toward a "100% renewable" future.

That increase in cost may be due to a variety of factors, not the least of which is the fact that PG&E sucks.

But thus far, renewables in practice have not yet proven to be cheaper than fossil fuels, especially natural gas.

Paradoxically, it may never be cheaper, given that the more we rely on renewables, the less we rely on natural gas, which in turn will lower the prices of natural gas.

But it doesn't have to be cheaper. Just "cheap enough."
