Respond to of 1587375 Canada raises risk level to ‘high’ for travelers to Italy due to terrorism, but doesn’t say what kind JUN 7, 2024 9:00 AM BY CHRISTINE DOUGLASS-WILLIAMS 1 COMMENT Canada has changed its risk level for any travelers to Italy to “exercise a high degree of caution” due to terrorism. But identifying Islamic terrorism specifically is avoided, as the Canadian government does not want being deemed “Islamophobic.” All the Canadian government would say is that “the elevated risk level comes as there is a threat of terrorism in Europe.” Yet European states such as Germany, Spain and France have also raised their alerts to levels of high risk, and have even made it clear that the elevated threat comes from Islamic terrorism. Be very cautious at all times, monitor local media and follow the instructions of local authorities,” the government said on its website. This elevated risk level comes as there is a threat of terrorism in Europe, the Canadian government said. “Terrorists have carried out attacks in several European cities and further attacks elsewhere in Europe are likely. Attacks in Italy cannot be ruled out,” the warning reads……
