Brumar, one more thing about "eye for an eye."

Mosaic law requires punishment to be equal to that of the original crime, but it was also meant to LIMIT the magnitude of retribution.

Often "eye for an eye" turns into "two eyes for an eye." That's just the nature of vengeance.

Mosaic law was supposed to limit that.

Remember that the next time Trump supporters vow vengeance and justify themselves with "eye for an eye."

Not only are they violating Jesus' command, they are also misunderstanding what "eye for an eye" really means.

Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
